Ice Model Basin
MOERI¡¯s Ice Model Basin
Recent exploration for natural resources and their transportation in the arctic regions and the increase of traffic through the NSR have stimulated new structural concepts and ships, model tests in an ice tank are the preferred evaluation tool. MOERI ice tank currently is to the process of constructing for 2010 completion. The ice tank is the first ice tank in Korea to meet the increasing research and development challenges and opportunities arising from the recent demands. Icebreaker, oceanic structure and marine equipment can be tested in this facility.
