Ocean Engineering Basin
MOERI¡¯s Ocean Engineering Basin
MOERI's Ocean Engineering Basin, operated by Ocean Engineering Research Department since 1998, is a sophisticated facility for the simulation of natural sea states, which is capable of generating multi-directional irregular waves, uniform currents and spectral winds. The facility is equipped with vertically adjustable L-shape wave maker, deep pit, CPMC (Computerized Planar Motion Carriage), and hybrid wave absorber composed of vertical expanded metal panels and sloping beach. The Ocean Engineering Basin is dedicated to testing of coastal and harbor models, ocean equipment and vehicle performance, and interaction of coastal and offshore structures with the ocean environment.
